Oscar Product Icons

In 2020, Oscar Health refreshed its brand identity and introduced a new illustration style centered on “optimistic realism.” I led our first major initiative to translate the illustration style specifically for our product. I art directed a set of product icons, while working closely with our product design team.

Oscar Illustration Overview
We use illustration throughout our brand to convey hard-to-describe elements of our offering, allow our members to been seen and reflected in our materials, and make their experience with Oscar that much more delightful. Our illustrations range from detailed scenes to spots to marketing icons, and now, product icons.

Product Icons
Our product icons help members understand and locate features on our app and website. Their style is simplified and graphic, communicating concepts well at a small scale. They use bright colors from our brand palette, simple shading, and playful details to reflect our guiding brand principle: “optimistic realism.”
